History of International Olympic Committee (IOC):
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) was founded by Pierre de Coubertin on 23rd June 1894. Greek businessman Demetrius Vikelas became the first president of the IOC. He had been working on this post for two years (1894-1896). The IOC organizes the modern Olympic Games in the world. Summer Olympic Games, Winter Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games are organized every four years by this committee. The first Summer Olympics in 1896 by the IOC were held in Athens and the first Winter Olympics in Greece in 1924 in Chamonix of France. Till to the year 1992 both Summer and Winter Olympics were held in the same year.
President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) 2018:
The current President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is Thomas Bach. He was selected as the successor to Jacques Rogge in the 125th session of the IOC held in Buenos Aires on 10th September 2013. The President of the International Olympic Committee is the head of the Executive Board, who is responsible for the administration and management of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). IOC Executive Board consists of Chairman, 4 Vice President and 10 other IOC members. Members of the Board are elected by secret ballot in the IOC session.
